Update February 16
The formal consultation process has ended, but we hope that people will use this site to continue conversation prior to a national event planned for July. You can add general comments here, or on specific items. See also Questions and Answers on the plan process.
The sparse reference to housing in the plan is problematic.
While local authorities have responsibility for the drafting of local housing strategies, is not the Spatial Plan a key opportunity to
• address regional and cross border issues
• create a framework to deal with infrastructure constraints and
• elaborate on policies to tackle systemic problems eg affordable homes?
The Spatial Plan could provide a strategic housing statement for the Principality and clear guidance on housing policies that enable providers and managers to plan effectively.
